What is Lion Pose?
Simhasana or Lion Pose is the bold stance of the king of the jungle and evokes the lively spirit of the animal. At this pose you should open your throat, jaw, and neck which can help with jaw/neck pain and stimulate the throat chakra. It also stretches the face muscles and the chest. You can roar two or three times.
How to do Lion Pose

Step 1
Sit on yoga mat. Put your palms on the floor. The distance between the hands should be as wide as the shoulder width. Your knees, shins and your feet should be on the floor. Put your buttocks on your heels. Now put your right palm on your right knee and put your left palm on your left knee.

Final Step
Then simultaneously open your mouth as much as you can, open your eyes too, contract the muscles on the front of your throat, and exhale the breath slowly out through your mouth with a distinct “ha” sound. The breath should pass over the back of the throat.
Come out from the pose: Close your mouth and lift your palms off the floor. Sit on yoga mat again.
✕Variations: Sit as Frog Pose. Kneel on the floor and sit back on your heels, then wiggle your buttocks down onto the inner arches of the feet, which together form a kind of saddle. Then, keeping the inner tips of your big toes touching, spread your knees wide, at least as wide as your outer hips. Now lean your torso forward and press your palms on the floor between your legs, fingers turned back toward your pelvis. Keep your elbows as straight as possible. Then perform the pose as described in Step 4 above.
Deepen the Pose: It is better Jalandhara Bandha perform during Simhasana.
